edemous fluid.

decrease pain in the injured area as well as in the area compensating for
the injury.

Advanced Therapies
Orthopedic & Medical Massage Techniques
These combined techniques utilize specific treatments integrating a variety of myofascial techniques including muscle energy techniques, post isometric relaxation, and friction massages appropriate to working with disease, pain, and recovery from injury.
Primal Reflex Techniques***
An advanced form of Manual Therapy that specifically attempts to down regulate nocioceptive (withdrawal) and startle reflexes in the autonomic nervous system that have become up regulated, or heightened, due to trauma (ie.- auto, work, or sporting injuries). By down regulating reflexes, pain is traded for improved awareness eliminating compensatory movements and allowing for greater ease and quality of motion. These techniques are gentle, they don’t hurt, and they usually produce very rapid results which are long lasting.
*** Most people that this type of work is appropriate for are usually 50% improved after their first visit and usually 3-4 visits are necessary to down regulate the reflexes. If the individual is not better by the third visit, the approach is probably not appropriate for their pain and other avenues can be pursued. This is true for about 10 – 20% of cases.
Session times run from 10 to 25 minutes. Price.... ‘Per Visit’ Charge.

Flexibility Training
A variety of stretching techniques that involve active isolated movement, dynamic stretching, and/or muscle energy techniques. Used for rehabilitation of athletes or people experiencing limited range of motion. This stretching eliminates the body’s stretch reflex defense mechanism, allowing for significant increased flexibility. Flexibility training when done regularly, reduces the chance of injury and decreases pain caused by tight musculature.
